Nordic Forum for Security Policy 2010:

26.-28.4.2010.

What is the role of international cooperation in providing security in the Baltic Sea Region? Does it provide participating countries additional resources to tackle issues of environment, social and health care, and cultural cooperation? How countries stem difficulties on their way to free, safe and just society? These among other questions were discussed on the Nordic Forum for Security Policy 2010 held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Development strategies for the whole region, challenges in realization of the partnership projects, border control cooperation, Belarus in the Baltic Sea cooperation, and new initiatives on security issues – were just some of the questions that were discussed during the forum´s first session. Forum also provided discussions in three parallel working groups: environment, social and health care, and cultural cooperation. Forum brought  together recognized experts, practitioners and scholars to facilitate more productive discussions and ideas.

The Nordic Forum for Security Policy (Finnish Committee for European Security, STETE and Swedish OSCE-network, OSSE-nätverket) was organised in co-operation with local partners Norden - Association for Cooperation with Nordic Countries, Center of International and Regional Policy (CIRP), and German Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
