The 1949 Geneva Conventions Revisited: Reflections on current challanges to International Humanitarian LawYear
2009 was the 60th anniversary of signing the Geneva Conventions which
covers the basis of International Humanitarian Law. To the
honourable of latterly finished anniversary Finnish Red Cross,
Åbo Akademi Universitys's Institute for Human Rights and the
Finnish Committee for European Security (STETE) organized a festive
seminar The 1945 Geneva Conventions Revisited: Reflections on Current
Challenges to International Humanitarian Law. The seminar took place on
Friday 29th January in the Parliament's Old Auditorium. Seminar
consisted from speeches of Finnish professionals from the field of
International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian activity. The seminar
