CSCE/OSCE 25th Anniversary Events
1 August 2000, Tampere Hall
STETE organised in co-operation with the Finnish Institute for Russian and East European Studies an international seminar on the role of the OSCE, 1 August, 2000, at the Tampere Hall in connection to the VI ICCEES World Congress. After the seminar was held an and an anniversary celebration hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Erkki Tuomioja. The presentations of the seminars have been edited into a small booklet. (2000 participants)
I Newer Saw Another Butterfly - Dealing with the Holocaust Past

STETE organised a seminar on the Holocaust at the Parliament House of Finland, 14 June 2000 in connection to the international campaigns for instance Living History and Learning from the Past.
Finnish seminar "Roots of Racism" (Rasismin juurihoito)
8 June 2000, Laurentius Hall, Lohja
STETE's traditional seminar was held in Lohja, 8 June 2000, at the Laurentius Hall. Seminar was organised in co-operation with the City of Lohja as a part of the series of the events "Summer in Lohja". In the seminar was discussed how racism raises and how for instance schools can prevent the raise of it. After the seminar was organised an excursion to the City Museum of Lohja. The speeches of the seminar have been edited in to a booklet (in Finnish).
Estonia and the European Union: In Search of Security

STETE organised a discussion in English, 16 March 2000, that was based on the publication Estonia and the European Union: In Search of Security edited by the Professor of the Science Academy of Estonia Peeter Vares. There is a possibility to order this publication via STETE's office.
Finnish Seminar "President and Security Policy"

STETE organised a discussion with the candidates for the Presidency Esko Aho and Tarja Halonen 2 February 2000, on the second round of the presidential election. The candidates were discussing questions concerning security policy and civil security. The audience had a possibility to ask questions. (300 participants.)
