EU enlargement with Belarus - common goal or growing concern?

STETE and Aleksanteri Institute organised together, 11 June 2003, at the Parliament House a seminar "EU enlargement with Belarus - common goal or growing concern" discussing the future integration of Belarus to the European co-operation networks. After the seminar there was a launching of the Northern Dimension Advisory Network -internet portal (www.northerndimension.net). Tarvitseeko Suomi maahanmuuttajia?

STETE organised its traditional summer seminar together with the City of Lohja. This year there were Finnish members of Parliament from different political parties discussing if Finland needs foreigners in the near future.

Roma Minority in Romania and Eastern Europe
8 September, 2003 Helsinki

"Roma Minority in Romania and Eastern Europe" -seminar was organised in Helsinki (Auditorium, Parliament House), 8 September 2003, by STETE together with the Embassy of Romania in Helsinki. The seminar was chaired by STETE's chairman MP Mrs Sinikka Hurskainen. Special guest speaker HSH Prince Radu of Hohenzollern-Veringen (Special Representative of the Romanian Government for Integration, Co-operation and Sustainable Development) discussed the theme. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Mr Erkki Tuomioja gave the opening address of the seminar. There were approximately 60 participants in the seminar. Enclosed the speech by HSH Prince Radu and the opening speech by Mr Erkki Tuomioja.

STETE organised a seminar related to the international campaing "16 days of activism against gender violence" concentrating on our near-by areas. The seminar was a continuation to STETEs seminar last year on human trafficking.
